Terms & Conditions


Fees

• No deductions can be made for missed classes (exceptions can be made at the principal’s discretion should a student suffer a long-term illness).

Classes and Attendance 

• Students are expected to attend their lessons punctually and regularly. All classes are ran back to back so students must arrive ready to start their class as soon as their class time starts.

• Should it be necessary to close the school on the account of epidemic, national crisis or any circumstances outside of intensity dance company’s control, fees cannot be returned nor compensation made for any period of lost schooling.

Withdrawal 

• Two weeks’ notice in writing is required for pupils wishing to leave the school. Any student leaving the school must give notice out of courtesy.

Corrections 

• Dance is a physical skill and in order to help and facilitate the students learning, the teacher may physically guide a movement by touch. This will be in a professional manner and the intention of the contact will be made clear. Please contact the principal if you have any queries about this.

Uniform and Appearance 

• Students must attend class dressed and groomed appropriately wearing the correct uniform. Hair is to be tied back into a ponytail or bun. There is to be no jewellery or watches worn, these will be took off the students if they come to class wearing these items. This is for health & safety reasons.

Behaviour

• Intensity Dance Company has the right to terminate a student’s involvement in classes if their behaviour is deemed unacceptable. We expect all dancers to respect all teaching staff, treat all other pupils as you would wish to be treated yourself and come to every class with a positive attitude. We also expect parents to lead by example and treat all teaching staff with respect, Intensity Dance Company will not hesitate to terminate a student’s involvement in classes if their parent’s behaviour is deemed unacceptable. 

Health 

• It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the principal of any illness or injury that may affect their child’s participation in class.

• Any medication for the child needed onsite as indicated on your registration form, should be kept in an airtight container, clearly labelled with child’s name, dosage and use.

Lost Property

• Intensity Dance Company does not accept responsibility for any damage or loss of property while on the premises.

Watching Week

• Parents are not permitted to watch the classes, as this can be distracting for the pupils. There will occasionally be a ‘watching week’ for children to showcase there work to parents.

• Parents of children under the age of 3 years old must remain on the premises at all times whilst their child is in attendance of Intensity Dance Company. all parents of children 4 years and over must drop their child off at the correct class time and return at pick up time. 

• Parents watching classes (mini’s or on ‘watching week’) are asked to refrain from talking and to turn all mobile phones to silent. All calls should be answered outside the hall in the porch. 

Accidents

• Any accidents/ injuries that occur during class will be logged and you as the parent will be informed. 

• Intensity Dance Company does not accept responsibility for any accidents or injury that may incur during class. 

• A certain amount of risk is carried by any physical activity. Students taking part in any classes or events run by intensity dance company do so at their own risk.

• Severe injuries will be reported to riddor. In the case on an emergency, and if the parent/guardian is absent, it is understood that teachers will act as loco parentis where necessary. An ambulance will be called, and the parents contacted.

Photography 

• Photographs and video footage containing your child may be used for promotional purposes including use on our Facebook and Instagram page unless said otherwise on photo consent form. Parents are permitted to take photos on watching day unless another parent objects on the day. 

Dropping off and collecting

• It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure that their child is supervised outside of the specified class times while onsite.

• If you, the parent/guardian are late picking your child up, you must know that they may not be supervised and the parent takes full responsibility for their child’s safety and wellbeing should anything happen to them after their class time has ended.

Other

• Students may be required to take part in performances. Prior notice will always be given.

• Any mobile phones that students bring into class must be put into the phone box at the start of class and collected at the end.

• Intensity Dance Company will not pass on any personal details to a third party unless it is in the student’s interest, i.e. for examination or festival/competition entry.

• Emergency contact information will be available on the class register for the class teacher in case of emergency.

• It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that we have the correct details for you and the student and keep us updated of any changes to contact details or health details.
